New Irish WWE champion Becky Lynch says she is ‘only getting started’

Irish wrestler Becky Lynch, who just won the WWE Raw Women’s Championship and the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship said she “is only getting started”.

The Dublin-raised athlete, whose real name is Rebecca Quin, said she believed “anything was possible” after the historic event.

For the first time ever, Wrestlemania was headlined by a women’s match.

Taking to Twitter Becky said she was only “getting started”.

 

“Unthinkable to think what was once unthinkable. Those 3 seconds last night were a lifetime in the making,” she wrote.

“Thank you to all of you who have been on this crazy whirlwind journey with me. We’re only getting started. #becky2belts.”

Becky made history this weekend

Going by the nickname The Man said it was time for a woman to become top of the sport.

“In the top level of any sport and in so many walks of life, the top person has always been called ‘the man’.

“Up until now, those top people have always been men. Right now I’m saying I’m the man. It’s not about gender, I’m just the top dog,” she told the Irish Times.
