Brendan O’Carroll has responded to the shock departure of Rory Cowan from Mrs.Brown’s Boys.
The actor confirmed that he was leaving the show after 26 years of playing Agnus Brown’s hairdresser son.
Since the news broke this morning, Brendan has been busy on Twitter reassuring fans that the remaining cast members are there to stay.
“We will all be there, to entertain YOU and give you a few laughs,” he wrote to one devastated fan.

He also went on to say that he “wished” the news of Rory’s exit from the show was a joke.
But he did say that fans are in for a big surprise with this year’s Christmas special, when Rory’s replacement will be revealed.
“It’s a surprise that will be revealed in this years Christmas Day special,” he tweeted.
