Miriam O’Callaghan’s daughter Alannah marries Fiachra Breathnach in Kerry

Alannah McGurk finally married fellow barrister Fiachra Breathnach yesterday in Co. Kerry.

The eldest daughter of RTÉ star Miriam O’Callaghan and sports anchor Tom McGurk tied the knot at Holy Cross Church, Kenmare – in front of 180 family and friends.

According to the Sunday Independent, the blushing bride wore an ivory satin gown by Dawn Fitzgerald, which featured a lace detail at the back, and a fishtail skirt.

Alannah was walked down the aisle by her father, and the pair pulled up to the church in a two-tone green 1936 Buick, the wedding car of the five-star Dromquinna Manor – where the wedding reception later took place.

Alannah’s sister Jessica took to Instagram to share a picture of the bride, simply writing, “The most beautiful bride.”

The bride’s family have close ties with The Kingdom, as they holiday there every year, and her late grandfather Jerry O’Callaghan came from near Currow.

Mother of the bride, Miriam, wore a red floor-length gown for the occasion – and arrived alongside the bridesmaids, including Alannah’s sisters Clara, Georgia and Jessica, as well as friends Rachel Carragher, Jenny Hayes and Claire Sweeney – who all looked elegant in blush pink gowns, which they all paired with matching sunglasses as they posed outside the church.

Fr Donal O’Connor, chaplain at the Institute of Technology Tralee, pronounced Alannah and Fiachra as husband and wife as a last-minute stand-in, as family friend Fr Pat Donnellan fell ill and could not attend.

“I met them last night and everyone was very relaxed. They’re a lovely couple, solid, good people,” Fr O’Connor told the Sunday Independent.
