Love/Hate star Aoibhinn McGinnity is swapping crime for Christmas – after landing a major role in Elf the Musical.
The RTE mot – who plays Trish in the gangland drama – will play Jovie in the show when it hits Ireland later this year.
She is taking over from New Girl star Zooey Deschanel, who has the lead part in the movie.

“Being involved in Elf The Musical is a dream come true for me. Musical theatre has been a huge passion of mine from a young age,” she said.
“And I’m really looking forward to the rehearsal period and performing on The Bord Gais Energy Theatre stage.
“The fact that the show is coming from Broadway direct to Dublin is just phenomenal, and I can’t wait to spend Christmas on their stage!”

The Broadway version of the beloved Will Ferrell film will be on stage at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre from December 16 until January 10.
Most cast are expected to soon be announced for the show, which is expected to be a sell out.
