Louise O’Neill’s award-winning book Asking For It is being turned into a play.
The stage adaptation will explore the topic of consent and sexual assault, and will be adapted by Meadhbh McHugh.
According to the Irish Independent, the Arts Council will reveal it is one of 11 projects to receive funding under the Open Call Programme.

A total of €1m will be invested in the 11 projects.
Author Louise has been commended for the award-winning book, which follows an 18-year-old rape victim in Dublin, who’s attack gets shared on social media.
