Louise McSharry admits she’s ‘strangely confident’ about giving birth

Louise McSharry has admitted that she’s “strangely confident” about giving birth next month.

The 33-year-old, who fell pregnant following an intense battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, will welcome her first child with husband Gordon Spierin in September – and Louise isn’t worried about first time labour what so ever.

“I trust my body and I’ll do what the professionals say to do. I don’t want to sound cocky, but I believe in my body. If I hadn’t had cancer I think I’d feel different about it, but I have so much respect for my body and I feel more resilient,” she told Evoke.ie.

While Louise it set to take her maternity leave within the next few weeks, she’s aiming to be back on the airwaves in early 2017.

“I’m planning to go back roughly in January or February, but it’s hard to say how it will be at the time or how the baby will be and everything,” she added.

Meanwhile, Louise previously admitted that she was ‘in total denial’ about her pregnancy to Goss.ie back in May.

Louise was speaking at the launch of Boots Night Walks, who hope to help raise €1 Million for Irish Cancer Society. Boots Ireland’s Night Walks for Night Nurses will take place nationwide from the last week in August through to the first week in September. The Dublin Night Walk will take place in the Phoenix Park Friday 26 August 2016.
