Louis Walsh hints that Brendan Murray gets through to the judges’ houses in The X Factor

Louis Walsh has hinted that Brendan Murray gets through to the judges’ houses in The X Factor.

The Galway native appeared on the new season of The X Factor last weekend, but got off to a rocky start after Simon chose a different song for him to perform.

Brendan’s initial audition song was Jermaine Stewart’s ‘We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off’ but Simon suggested that Kate Bush’s ‘This Woman’s Work’ would be more suitable for the 21-year-old’s voice.

The young singer came back later on in the day and did an emotional performance of the 80s hit.

Brendan got four yes’ from the judging panel and now his previous manager, Louis Walsh, has hinted that he is going far in the competition.

The singer was part of Louis’ boyband, Hometown, before the group split in 2016 and also represented Ireland in the Eurovision last year.

Speaking of his X Factor audition, the former judge said: “I think he could be a lot better because he’s got a great voice, but it’s always the song choice. Song choice is so important for all of these people, you need the right song.”

“He’s got a beautiful voice. He had a wobble and they showed it all, normally they don’t show all that stuff. He’s great, he just needs the right songs. I believed in him when I picked him for the Eurovision,” the entertainment manager continued.

“He has done everything here and it’s a chance, X Factor’s a chance. It’s a gamble as well, but you have to do it. They showed everything, so they must have liked him.”

Louis hinted that Brendan’s future is bright on the show as he stated: “I’d say his through to judges homes, I’ve got a feeling he is.”

Louis said that he’s happy not being a part of The X Factor this year and that the judging panel aren’t as bad as people think.

“I think Robbie is brilliant, I think he would be my very first choice. Robbie and Simon – it doesn’t matter who’s in the middle as long as those two are there, they’re brilliant,” he said.

“He’s always funny, he’s entertaining and he loves the show. I see why she (Ayda) is there. Give them a chance, it will get better,” the Ireland’s Got Talent judge urged.
