Lottie Ryan has shared sweet and funny memories of her late father Gerry Ryan.
On 2fm’s Breakfast Republic she laughed through a segment in which Bernard O’Shea discussed how he was only his child’s eighth favourite person.
This led the breakfast crew to point out that he was better at Dancing With The Stars, in which he came seventh, than he was at being his child’s favourite person.
Keith went on to mention how he’s usually his son’s favourite person but that he was in the bad books after delivering some unwanted instructions from the sideline of his son’s football match.
The conversations was prompted by news that Courtney Cox claimed to be her daughter’s favourite person. Lottie pointed out that her daughter would have to say that for it to be true which led her to recount an amusing habit of Gerry’s
Lottie recalled how he would bark like a dog in packed lifts and when queueing in shops to embarrass her and her siblings.
When they asked him to stop he bark more and mortify them. Classic dad humour.
Gerry Ryan sadly passed away in April 2010.
At the time of his death he enjoyed having the largest audience on RTÉ 2fm for The Gerry Ryan Show.
