The Taken star is a fan of sport having boxed as a child and even became Ulster’s amateur boxing champion in his youth.

The Antrim native has narrated a video titled Ready For The World free of charge in a bid to bring the Rugby World Cup to Dublin.

An Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) spokesman confirmed to Press Association Sport that the actor had waived any potential fee for the promotional video, in a clear early boost to Ireland’s bid.

At a press conference on Tuesday November 16th, the IRFU will will reveal detailed logistics and plans for their £100million bid and will outlining potential venues and anticipated tourism and financial benefits of hosting the competition.
