Laura Whitmore urges people to use their social media platforms to effect positive change

Laura Whitmore has urged people to use their social media platforms to effect positive change.

She celebrated three years working with UNICEF and took to Instagram to announce the exciting news that she is now an official Goodwill Ambassador.

To mark the occasion she made a plea to her social media followers to use their voices to give “positivity and encouragement to those who need it.”

I’ve been working with the organisation since 2015 but today I officially became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. I have seen first hand the incredible work they do in areas of natural disaster and conflict. All children, regardless of their income, ethnicity, or geography have the right to be protected and be given the opportunity to reach their full potential. Today I saw a new partnership which will ensure even more children are protected especially when there is so much disruption and displacement in this world. I was taught from a young age if you have a voice you use it, as not everyone is in as lucky a situation. Everyone who is on this social media platform has a voice, please use it for positivity and encouragement to those who need it ❤

The 33-year-old has been on several trips with the charity to see firsthand, the work that they do.

Her most recent trip was in June when she went to visit the Shrijanshill Child Club in Melamchi, Nepal.

Here she saw young people get together to share stories and support each other after surviving an earthquake.
