Laura Whitmore breaks silence on IFTA axing: 'I just did the job'

TV presenter Laura Whitmore has given her two cents on the IFTA’s being axed.

RTE have always broadcast the Irish Film and TV Awards, but after it was described as a “shambles” last year, the station will not be airing it in 2015.

Laura, 29, said she thinks people are making a bigger deal out of the scandal.

“I think they made it bigger [the criticism] than it was, I just came home and did the job,” Laura explained.

Laura co-hosted the awards with actor Simon Delaney, and while she’s home for Christmas Laura said she is going to visit him in his panto Alladin.

“I love working with Simon, he’s a brilliant guy,” she told the Herald.

“He’s in the panto at the moment as the Genie so I’m going to go and see him while I’m home.”
