This Friday’s Late Late Show Country Special will pay tribute to the late, great Big Tom.

The country music singer passed away on Tuesday at the age of 81, and many music fans were saddened by the news of his death.

Big Tom passed away just days before The Late Late Show’s annual Country Special, and show bosses have since revealed that they’ll pay tribute to the legendary singer this Friday.

The Late Late Show’s Twitter account tweeted, “We were very sad to hear this morning of the passing of Ireland’s King of Country, Big Tom.”

“Our condolences to his family, friends and fans. He was a huge part of our Country Specials and we will be paying special tribute to him on this Friday’s show.”

Big Tom appeared on The Late Late Show several times over the years, including last year alongside Margo to perform ‘A Love That’s Lasted Through the Years’.

Tom’s children announced the news of his death via his Facebook page, writing, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father Big Tom McBride (RIP) this morning.”

“Dad passed away peacefully in the company of his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.”

Tom’s passing comes after his wife of 50 years, Rose, died back in February.
