Khabib Nurmagomedov explains why he attacked Conor McGregor and teammates following UFC fight

Khabib Nurmagomedov has explained why he attacked Conor McGregor and his teammates following their UFC fight.

The Russian fighter was the first to lead the attack as he made his way into the crowd to charge at Dillon Danis.

Meanwhile, Khabib’s teammates made a shocking attack on Conor, while he was still in the octagon.

The 30-year-old has now explained the reason for his shocking actions and claimed that it was all to do with Conor’s ‘fight-talk’.

“I want to say sorry to the Nevada State Athletic Commission,” Khabib said at the post-fight press conference.

“This is not my best side. He talked about my religion, my country, my father,” he continued.

“He came to Brooklyn, he broke bus and nearly killed two people. So why do people still talk about me jumping over the cage? I have shown respect.”

“I told you guys: his whole team and him, they are tap machines. Today he tapped. Undisputed and undefeated,” the fighter said.

“This is a respectful sport. This is not a trash-talking sport. I want to change this game. You cannot talk about religions and nations. This for me is very important. Thank you for waiting for me. I know my father is gonna smash me when I go home. Nevada: sorry. Vegas: sorry,” Khabib explained.

“He took a picture with Putin. But Putin just called me and told me he is proud of me. And he said congratulations,” the fighter concluded.

According to Dana White, President of the UFC, three of Khabib’s teammates were arrested and brought to jail following the attacks.
