Kathryn Thomas has revealed that she’s yet to start planning her wedding, but that all she wants is a “really simple, big party”.
The TV star got engaged to her restaurateur partner Padraig last November, but Kathryn has admitted that she hasn’t “really thought about the wedding” as she has so many other plans between now and 2018.
“I’m going to Paris in two weeks time for my friend’s 40th and then visiting my sister in LA in September, so I’m kind of travelling and doing all of these holidays. If I don’t take my holidays or get to travel, I get a little bit of cabin fever.
“I’ve planned all of these holidays and all of these trips, but I haven’t really thought about the wedding. We decided we’re just going to enjoy this year and then 2018 will be the year of planning,” she told Independent.ie.

“Only because my girl friends have said that once you get into it and once you start it, organising a wedding takes over your entire life, and right now I’m just about holidays taking over my entire life, not weddings and flowers and photography and all of that. We’re just still enjoying celebrating.”
Kathryn is still unsure whether they will have the wedding at home or abroad, but she does know that she wants it to be a massive shindig.
“There are so many benefits to having a wedding at home, and then there are so many benefits to having one abroad. I think we’ll know in a couple of months time when we’re ready to make that decision.
“Some of my girl friends have been sending me spread sheets and I’ve had to tell the rest of them, ‘I don’t want to know! I don’t want to see another Excel spreadsheet!’ I just want a really simple, big party, loads of food, loads of drinks, great music,” she added.
