Katherine Lynch: ‘I wouldn’t be doing DWTS if it wasn’t for Operation Transformation’

Katherine Lynch has admitted that she never would have had the confidence to do Dancing With The Stars, without first appearing on Celebrity Operation Transformation.

The comedian has impressed judges so far in the competition, but aside from her moves, Katherine has insisted that without losing weight on OT, she wouldn’t have signed up for the glitzy show.

“Without ‘Operation Transformation’, I would not be doing this show,” she told the Irish Independent.

“You wouldn’t be confident enough to do it for one and to be honest, you wouldn’t even be able to get any costumes to fit you. I’m still the biggest dancer out there, even though I’m watching everything I eat.”

Confidence: Katherine couldn’t have done DWTS without Operation Transformation | RTE

The TV star shed an incredible 13.5lbs on Operation Transformation last September, and has since lost even more weight thanks to her intense  rehearsals with her dance partner Kai Widdrington.

“I find some of the costumes hard to get on and I’m still on my journey, but I’m feeling amazing.

“I would never fat shame, but I would say to people that you do feel better when you can move around easier and fit into nicer clothes. It’s a fact. I never even thought I was that unhappy before but now that I am really happy, you know, it’s a measure of it,” she said.

Katherine’s comments come soon after RTÉ and Ray D’Arcy were forced to defend Operation Transformation, after a health expert slated the show.
