Joanne Larby has opened up about a past “unhealthy relationship” and her father’s cancer diagnoses in an emotional statement.

The blogger shared an insight into her life with fans, as she told them about her struggles and explained how she overcame difficult times in 2017.

Joanne posted a statement on Instagram, in which she said: “This time last year I made the decision to leave London and move home. I left what had become an incredibly unhealthy relationship and decided to never speak about the details of what happened. I was scared, and tied to a property so I decided to get therapy to process the scenario I found myself in.”

This time last year I made the decision to leave London and move home. I left what had become an incredibly unhealthy relationship and decided to never speak about the details of what happened. I was scared, and tied to a property so I decided to get therapy to process the scenario I found myself in. Most of you won’t know the reason my family went skiing this year was because my dad had to go to Germany where he was diagnosed with cancer for the third time. During all of this A LOT of negative things were going on online and I honestly don’t know how my mum remained so strong for us all. Instead of crumbling, I focused on what mattered most – healing and being present in ‘real life’. At times I thought ‘If only the people being cruel online knew what was really going on’ but remembered ‘It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; he who strives valiantly’. Staying positive was tough; I worked on myself a lot, meditating, doing exercise that I loved, reading books that kept me on a positive path. I surrounded myself with incredible family and friends, and a boyfriend who I met at my worst, at the most unexpected time and place, who has been one of the best things to ever happen to me. I never believed life could be this good. I didn’t think things would turn around at the time, but I always said when I came out the other side I wanted to use my influence to share things I genuinely believe helped, and this is certainly one of them. Deciding to team up with the @thefeelgoodcotys was a no brainer. Tara, the incredibly brave lady behind this website (I urge you to check out her story), has created a place for people to go and take small steps of self care; anxiety journals, CBT books, and motivational activities that really do help. Life will get tough and at times negative thoughts will consume you, but each small step and practise of self love will lead you to a better place. “I never believed life could be this good. I didn’t think things would turn around at the time, but I always said when I came out the other side,” the blogger continued.

Joanne had a tough year in 2017, as she faced a lot of criticism regarding her Instagram photos and claims that she was selling wrong clothing sizes on Depop.

The blogger has fought off the negativity though and finished her inspiring post by telling fans: “Life will get tough and at times negative thoughts will consume you, but each small step and practise of self love will lead you to a better place. And remember, you’re stronger than you think”.
