While RTE radio may not be winning in the day time figures, the station have revealed Claire Byrne and Marian Finucane are “smashing” records.
2FM recently underwent a complete makeover, changing their listenership age and told Goss.ie with the latest figures they are now “the biggest station in the country for 15-34 year olds.
“We set out to do what we meant to do,” a spokesperson revealed.
The new and revamped 2FM is only “9 months old and we have to take every step as it comes. We haven’t even have a full year yet,” they added.

But while shows like The Nicky Byrne and Jenny Show are at 136,000 listeners, Breakfast Republic is at 151,000 and The Eoghan McDermott Show is 112,000 – the ladies on RTE Radio 1 are killing it.
Claire Byrne jumped up by a massive 14,000 listeners – making it a fantastic year for the presenter who got married this summer.
And The Marian Finucane Show “smashed records” now having 400,000 listeners on her Saturday show.
Meanwhile Today FM are delighted with their figures – see their JNLR results right HERE.
As well as Today FM, 98FM saw a great increase, with their Breakfast Show gaining 6,000 listeners.
