He has travelled the world playing rugby so it’s not surprising that Jamie Heaslip and his new bride have chosen to honeymoon close to home.
The rugby ace and his gorgeous bride Sheena O’Buachalla tied the knot at the Newman University Church in Dublin city centre on Saturday before hosting a lavish reception at the Powerscourt Hotel in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow.
And after the celebrations, the pair are believed to be planning to slip away for a honeymoon close to home as Jamie has only recently returned from a three-test tour of South Africa with Ireland.
A source told the Irish Sun on Sunday: “The season starts again shortly so the idea of another long-haul flight didn’t appeal to them.
“They are a really beautiful couple and everybody is just delighted for them. Sheena is very down to earth. They are a great match.”
High profile guests at the wedding included Rob Kearney, Cian Healy, Kevin McLoughlin, Johnny Sexton, Jack McGrath, Sean Cronin and Jordi Murphy but it was the couple’s beloved bulldog Jay-Z who stole the show.
The pooch wore a bow-tie just like Jamie as he watched the pair tie the knot.
Songs at the ceremony included John Paul Young’s Love is in the Air, She Moves Through the Fair and I Will Wait by Mumford and Sons.
