Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan is among stars set to start filming a new movie in Mayo at the end of this month.
The feature film, Wild Mountain Thyme, is an adaption of John Patrick Shanley’s play Outside Mullingar.
Other stars heading to Mayo to film the new movie include Emily Blunt and Christopher Walken.
Speaking at the premiere of his new movie Synchronic at the Toronto International Film Festival, Doran spoke about the upcoming film and told reporters: “I can’t wait. I love Ireland.”
The film follows two star-crossed lovers who get caught up in their families dispute over land.
Dornan plays Anthony, a busy worker who is constantly belittled by his father (Christopher Walken).
Emily Blunt plays Jamie’s love interest Rosemary, who holds a grudge towards Anthony since childhood – but soon becomes enamoured with him.
When asked about working with Blunt, he said: “Who wouldn’t be excited about filming with Emily? It’s going to be a good thing.”
The film’s producer Martina Niland is from Ireland. She’s previously worked on Irish blockbusters Once and Sing Street.
Producers are still seeking extras, and there’s an open casting call taking place in Ballina this weekend.
