Jamie Dornan admits: 'I stalked a girl for The Fall – I'm not proud of it'

It looks like Jamie Dornan has some things in common with his character Paul Spector in The Fall – after all as he admitted that he once stalked a woman.

However, it was all in the name of art as the Fifty Shades of Grey actor revealed it was for preparation ahead of the hit BBC drama.

“In the first series, I did do a few things to try and get inside [Paul Spector’s head] on the tube in London,” he said.

Stalker: Jamie revealed he once followed a girl home to get into character for The Fall

Questioning if he could get arrested for telling the story, Jamie admitted: “I followed a woman off the train one day to see what it felt like to pursue someone like that.

“I really kept my distance and I was aware, it was kind of half-hearted because I was going ‘is she going to notice?’,” he told the LA TImes.

The star who admitted he doesn’t practise method acting and probably for the better for his role as a serial killer in the show, didn’t follow his prey for too long.

Half-hearted: The star revealed he only made a half-hearted attempt

“Not long, she got off a few stops earlier then I was planning and I thought ‘I’m going to have to commit to this’.

“I followed her around a few street corners and then I was like ‘what are you doing?’

“It felt kind of exciting, in a really dirty way but I’m not proud of myself,” he admitted.

Learned: Jamie admitted he learnt from the creepy experience

“I do honestly think I learnt something from it because I obviously have never done something like that in my life so it was intriguing and interesting to enter that process of ‘what are you following her for?’ and ‘what are you trying to find out?’

Jamie did admit though he does like to get out of his character as “it’s not healthy to stay in the headspace of someone as evil as he is.”

The TV star is currently in LA on the Emmy Awards campaign trail to promote The Fall.
