A 15-year-old girl is getting bullied online after throwing water on Niall Horan.
The teenager has been targeted by One Direction fans all over the world after a video emerged of the girl splashing water on the Mullingar star.
The incident happened last Thursday at the lad’s Belfast gig, and now #CanYouRespectNiall has become a trend on Twitter.
Now the girl’s mother has come out to defend her daughter, saying she was splashing water back and forth with Louis Tomlinson, who started splashing her and her friends.
“The actual fact of the throwing water occurred because Louis had started throwing water around her and her friends, and she as well as others, had took this to be a game and threw some back,” she wrote to JOE.ie.
“My daughter and I want all this to stop because she loves 1D so much. She wants Niall and the rest of the band to know that this has been blew out of proportion and she would never in her wildest dreams want to hurt any of them,” she added.
The girl in question has taken to Twitter herself, changing her name to I’m Sorry Niall and told fans it was an accident.
