Jamie Heaslip has announced that he is expecting his first child with wife Sheena O’Buachalla.
The Irish rugby star confirmed the news to the Irish Mail on Sunday, but didn’t disclose how far along Sheena is.
“My wife is expecting so it is an exciting time for us,” he said.
“I am the youngest of my family and I have eight nieces and nephews. I have had experience of small children but I have always been able to hand them back.”
“This time it’s different as I won’t be able to do that,” he added.
Jamie and Sheena tied the knot in August 2016 in a star-studded ceremony at the Newman University Church on St Stephen’s Green, after dating for six years.
While the couple are set to become first-time parents to a little baby, they’re already ‘mum and dad’ to their pet bulldog, Jay Z, who was the ring bearer at their wedding.
