Irish Film Director Martin McDonagh received two Golden Globe Nominations

Screenwriter and Film Director Martin McDonagh has received two Golden Globe nominations today.

The 47 year old British and Irish playwright was nominated for two awards, Best Screenplay and Best Director for his movie Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri.

The film which stars Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, John Hawkes, and Peter Dinklage, follows a mother who takes matters into her own hands after the the police in her town are unable to find a suspect in her daughter’s murder.

Martin’s film will be up against stiff competition in both the best director and motion picture categories with Dunkirk, The Post, Lady Bird and Call Me By Your Name all contenders for the top prize.
