Holly Carpenter SLAMS haters: 'Women are so unsupportive towards each other'

Holly Carpenter has slammed haters and body shamers, and called out women who don’t support other females.

Speaking about the controversy surrounding Kathryn Thomas and the criticism she received about her outfit on The Voice of Ireland – the model admitted she’s fed up of pass-remarkable people.

“I’m so fed-up of women constantly having to take this kind of criticism over their appearance. People are so pass-remarkable when it comes to what women wear and what they weigh,” she wrote in her Herald column.

Fed up: Holly thinks women should support one another | INSTAGRAM

“I get the odd bitchy comment on my Instagram, where someone might say they don’t like my outfit or think I’m wearing too much, or not enough, make-up.

“Firstly, I wouldn’t post a photo if I wasn’t happy with how I looked in it, and secondly, I don’t care if someone I don’t even know has something bad to say,” she explained.

According to the 24-year-old, men have it a lot easier in terms of receiving nasty comments – and women have a lot to answer for when it comes to criticising one another, whether it be on social media or in person.

“I think men have it a lot easier when it comes to avoiding criticism over what they wear, but I don’t blame them,” she explained.

Unfair: Holly thinks men have it easier when it comes to taking criticism | PATRICK O’LEARY

“I think women have a lot to answer for when it comes to slating each other and creating this problem for themselves.”

In Holly’s opinion, women should be sticking together in order for the constant criticising to come to an end.

“So it makes me sad when I see women being so unsupportive towards each other,” she added.

“If we don’t support each other and lead by example, then how do we expect this attitude to change?”
