Greg O’Shea has responded to claims that he dumped Amber Gill over text.
Earlier today, The Sun reported that the Limerick rugby player dumped the Geordie beauty via text – just hours before they were due to appear on The Late Late Show together.
Greg appeared on the show on Friday night without Amber, and clarified what’s really going on between them.
He said: “Well, first of all, the age old saying – don’t believe everything you read.”
“Me and Amber have been chatting the last couple of days over phone calls, this whole thing about a text just isn’t true, people just want to sell stories,” Greg explained.
“So we’re mad about each other, I’m mad about her, what’s not to be mad about? She’s gorgeous, smart, funny, personality, she’s the queen of Love Island for a reason.”
“But we need to be realistic about the situation – she lives in the UK, every brand wants to work with her, every event wants her there, of course she deserves all of it.”

“And I decided to come back to Ireland and do my thing here. I’m trying to get to the Olympics with the Sevens team, I’ve my law exams coming up, so we’re both so jam-packed busy and you need to take these opportunities by the scruff of the neck,” he said.
“So we’re kind of just being realistic about the situation and protecting our careers, and that’s where we are at the moment.
Greg added: “I’m mad about her and I hope she’s mad about me, so we’ll see about the future.”
