Saoirse Ronan’s makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto has revealed how she achieved her flawless Met Gala glam.
The Irish actress stole the show last night, as she rocked the pink carpet in a red sequinned Gucci gown, designed by Alessandro Michele.
Her dramatic dress was perfectly complimented by her makeup, which was achieved using Chanel products.
Kara said: “With the theme of ‘Camp’ for this years Met Ball I intended to keep her look raw yet refined. I chose to deconstruct the camp element to elevate the art and still compliment Saoirse’s delicate beauty. Simple yet bold.”
For the skin prep, Kara used Chanel Sublimage La Creme Yeux and Rose water, before blending Chanel Les Beige Foundation in Light all over the face and neck.
Saoirse’s MUA then used the Chanel Bronzer and Highlighter Duo in Medium to create contour and drama to accentuate her bone structure.
She also mixed Première Gloss Top Coat Eyeshadow in Lunaire and Solaire, and used them to highlight the mask areas on the bridge of the nose, upper cheek bones, brow bone and temples – creating guilded scintillating mask shaped highlights.
Kara brought out Saoirse’s eyes by lining with a soft golden brown eyeliner along the rim of her upper and lower lashline, then blended past the outer eye, smudged and feathered creating a soft yet dramatic shimmering elongated almond dragon shaped eye.
She elongated out toward the ears by setting the liner with shimmery gold brass eyeshadow, and blending past the liner shape, also using brown instead of black mascara to keep a softer feel, feathering out and elongating the lashes to expand the eyes.
To further enhance the glowing golden crystalline feel, she dusted glittery shimmer in gold, white opal and bronze across the brow bone, on the inner eye and eyelids under the eye and on the upper cheek bones and temples.
And finally for lips, Kara used the Chanel Rouge Coco Flash in 53 CHICNESS, to give a healthy tinted moist lip.
