Garth Brooks SLAMS new Irish play using his name 'for publicity'

Reports that Garth Brooks is set to return to Ireland to watch the play based on last Summer’s concert fiasco have been rubbished.

The US singer is reportedly not very happy that his name is being used to attract publicity to the play Are You There Garth? It’s Me Margaret.

“I find it sad to say the least that someone continues to try to use Garth to seek publicity for their play,” his rep said.

Not happy: Garth is said to be unhappy his name is being used in the new play

“Garth is not coming to Ireland as he is on tour and on stage in the US,” they told the Journal.ie.

It comes after the creator of the show Darren Smith claimed that Garth had heard about the play and was eager to see it.

He knows about the show and we have been told he’s very interested and wants to come and see it. I wouldn’t be stunned at all if we had a special visitor in a Stetson next week,” he told the Irish Times.
