Fair City's Vivienne Connolly happy being single – and WON'T look for a man on Tinder

Vivienne Connolly has admitted she’s happy being single – and has no plans to join Tinder to find a man.

The Fair City star split from Fade Street producer John Norton last year, after just over a year together.

But the 38-year-old said she hasn’t been dating – and is happy for her kids to get used to her being on her own.

She told Goss.ie: “I’m not dating anyone, as I know I’ve been single since ages ago. But I haven’t been out with anyone.

“I keep saying to the girls, ‘How am I supposed to meet someone?’ I don’t really go out. I’ll have to go on one of those dating websites!

“But Tinder? Jesus! I couldn’t. I can’t get my head around it. But apparently that’s what everyone is doing and you don’t meet people in bars any more.

“I’m happy how I am at the moment. The way I look at it, Ben is 10, Katie is 8 and I think it’s a great transition period for them to get to used to the situation.

“I’m in no rush. And I always think things like this – or work – that’s where you meet people.”

Previously Vivienne married flamboyant entrepreneur Ben Dunne’s son Mark in 2005, but they split five years later.

And the TV star is enjoying life by taking part in Strictly Against Breast Cancer for Breast Cancer Ireland, and will be doing the tango for the charity.

She told Goss.ie: “The Tango is one of those dances you either love or hate it. It’s quite dramatic and serious.

“All the others are doing Dirty Dancing and I wanted to do something fun. But it will be fun to learn it.

“It’s tricky, there’s spins and then you have to land on a chair in heels. It’s like anything you look at it and think it’ll be okay – but then you go and try to do it. Its a completely different ball game.”

And Vivienne admitted she was willing to get involved after seeing her aunt hit with breast cancer.

She said: “My aunt suffered from breast cancer as well and had a breast removed. Marian had a breast removed and is in remission for over 10 years.

“So it’s brilliant. It’s all about diet and lifestyle, she grows her own food now and is completely organic. I really think that helped with the recovery and as we all know now it’s about catching it early, it’s about awareness.

“It’s so preventable – and it’s great to turn it from a terminal disease to something now people can recover from. It’s nice to give back. I’ve done mini-marathons and loads of stuff.

“I’m hitting that age – I think it’s 59 – where you get a higher risk of breast cancer. I’m not 59, but I’m not getting any younger.”
