The FAI boss – who was forced to insist he wasn’t romantically involved with Nadia Forde – has now hooked up with Emma English.
They have been dating for four months after first meeting at the Strictly Come Dancing charity ball last year – and the 46-year-old decided to reveal their love as “there is a lot of speculation”.

And John insisted they are “very much in love”, adding: “I hope it goes the distance”.
But Emma – who now accompanies him on his work trips – didn’t have a clue who he was when they first met.
And John told the Sunday Independent he had to spend a lot of time persuading her to go out with him.
He said: “When I asked Emma out in May it took a month to say yes. She was afraid we would lose our friendship.

“When she came back to me I didn’t answer her calls because I didn’t want to be rejected again.
“And then I got a call to say, ‘If you don’t call me back you don’t have any chance’. We met that night in Doheny and Nesbitts.
“That was the night she said yes. She is as beautiful inside as she is out. She makes me a better person.”
