EXCLUSIVE! Patrick Kielty hopes to teach wife Cat Deeley about GAA

Patrick Kielty has revealed that he wants to get his wife Cat Deeley into GAA.

The comedian currently lives in L.A with his presenter wife, and they welcomed their first son Milo into the world back in January 2016.

The former All-Ireland minor winner talked about how he’s trying to get his son involved in GAA – even though he’s only one-year-old.

He spoke to Goss.ie at the launch of Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp. Kellogg’s supports Cul Camps to promote and encourage physical activity. Kellogg’s believes in the power of breakfast to fuel activity on and off the pitch.

“I’ve got the young fella Milo, I’m secretly trying to get him tucked into GAA. The wife has no clue what GAA is.

“But as I’m putting him down every evening with a bottle, I’m secretly giving him commentary on the All Ireland Final with him winning the All Ireland Final.

“So that’s our – well I was going to say that’s a secret between me and him, but clearly it’s not anymore!”

The Down native is obviously very passionate about GAA, so Goss.ie asked him if he would ever relocate back to Ireland.

“At the moment, basically there’s more GAA stuff in the house in LA than there is in the house in Dundrum. When [Milo] was born there was GAA jerseys sent, there was footballs sent.

“The joke in our family is that I live in Beverly Hills 16. That’s kind of what they say.”

Patrick and his So You Think You Can Dance host wife Cat wed in 2012, after being friends for over a decade.

Cat is from England, which means she’s not as familiar with GAA as her hubby, but Patrick said he’s eager to get her involved.

“With a name like Cat she would probably be supporting Kilkenny. We’re going to slowly try to get her over to a few matches and get her involved.”
