New mum Síle Seoige has opened up about getting parenting advice from her sister Grainne – five months after welcoming her first child, Cathal.

The presenter and her partner Damien O’Farrell welcomed Cathal on August 2, and Síle has finally shown off her gorgeous baby boy for the first time in a stunning photo shoot for Aldi.

Speaking to Goss.ie while launching Aldi’s Baby and Toddler Event, Síle revealed that she’s been getting advice from her sister Grainne, who is mum to her own son Conall, who she had when she was 20.

“Yeah, I mean we’re constantly in touch and you know chatting to each other about a whole myriad of things,” she said.

“I suppose we’re kind of baby mad in our house anyway, so it’s constantly talking about the new little addition, he’s the latest new little person in the Seoige side so everybody’s kind of obsessed with him.

“But she’s brilliant. And I suppose, you know, it was quite a few years ago that she was a mammy but you know being a mother is being a mother.”

Speaking about life since welcoming Cathal into the world, Síle said, “It’s been a big change these past few months. Cathal is now five and a half months, and everyone says it flies by and it sounds like such a cliché but it’s really true.”

“I was looking back at photos and videos of him when we came home from the hospital and he was so teeny tiny initially when we put him in the car seat and he was practically swimming in the car seat because he was so tiny, and now it’s almost like looking at a different baby.”

Síle spoke to Goss.ie at the launch of Aldi’s Baby & Toddler Event, and was joined by her 5-month-old son Cathal in his first ever public photoshoot.
