James Kavanagh spoke to us about his unique style and described it as his “armour”, before revealing that he “always experimented with fashion.”
We caught up with the presenter at the launch of the Peter Mark VIP Style Award launch, where he chatted to us about what style means to him.
“For me style and fashion is almost like a second skin. It’s like almost kind of like armour. I feel more confident when I like my outfit,” he exclusively told Goss.ie.
“It’s so important and I think your outfit talks about you before you even get to talk to someone. So it’s almost like your outfit is introducing yourself before you even get to speak to them. So it’s so important.”

James also revealed that he has always been experimental with fashion and when asked if he was ever shy about his style, the social media star said: “No not at all.”
“I’d always be going into my dad’s closet wearing one of his big blazers and then putting on my mum’s heels and then putting on my brother’s karate medals. So I was always kind of experimenting with fashion and style. It was always something I just loved doing.”
“As RuPaul says ‘You’re born naked and the rest is drag’ and that’s what I believe. We’d always have dress up boxes in school. I’d always be putting on Communion dresses and veils, so yeah fashion’s fun so why not have fun with it?” he finished.
