Georgia Steel has revealed her heartfelt advice for Irish Love Island contestants Greg O’Shea and Maura Higgins.

Georgia explained that she wasn’t always able to be herself while on the show, as she encouraged them to remain true to their own personalities despite the pressures of fame.

Goss.ie spoke exclusively to the star, who became known for her “loyal” catchphrase while on the 2018 edition of the show, about her thoughts on the recent series.

“Yes I did watch it this year – not all of it as I was away doing my own show – but I did watch Maura and I think she was very Irish,” she joked.

“I would say to Greg and Maura to definitely stay true to themselves always. I feel like if you’re from Ireland going to the UK can be different so I would just say stay true to yourself because you’re a character and people love that.”

Georgia also opened up about her experience on upcoming show Ex On The Peak, the American version of Ex On the Beach.

The star explained that she was able to remain true to her personality on the show, citing it as the best thing she has ever done.

“I’ll be honest with you… it was the best thing that I ever did, it was the best show I’ve ever done – I absolutely loved it and I really feel like the way I portrayed myself, it was me.”

“I wasn’t influenced in any way, I didn’t take anyone’s guidance on board, I was just completely myself. It made me realise that being yourself is enough. You don’t have to put on a show for people – being you should be good enough.”

Georgia went on to explain that in the past, she hasn’t always been able to be herself.

“I feel like I’ve learned so much since I came out of Love Island, you’ve got to remember I was only 19 years old, and now I’m 21 and I have been in the industry for a while, so I do feel like I’ve definitely grown as a character,” she said.

“I definitely felt like when I first came out, I had to be someone I wasn’t. I feel like that’s maybe a good thing because it was relatable to people, and people have seen my journey.”
