EXCLUSIVE! DWTS’s Anna Geary talks ‘raw performance’ and Valentine’s Day plans

Anna Geary has been consistently dazzling on Dancing With the Stars and this week was no exception.

We caught up with her after her goose bump inducing Viennesse Waltz with Ryan McShane.

Usually partnered with Kai Widdrington, she scored a convincing 22 with her new partner on the show’s switch up week.

Judge Julian heralded the camogie star’s emotional piece to Say You Love Me by Jessie Ware.

“It was beautiful, elegant, lilting… You connected with the emotion.”

Viewers were taken aback when Ryan McShane called out the judges for under marking her in previous weeks.

Remarking on the incident Anna was just happy that he took her so seriously as a dancer.

“He saw in me a dancer… I’m delighted he stood up for me… My knight in shining armour.”

The GAA Executive had support in the audience tonight from her partner Kevin Sexton.

Fellow sports person Tomás O’Leary told us he’d be taking up salsa with his wife after the series and Norah Casey remarked that she’d be trying her hand at burlesque.

Asked whether Anna would be incorporating her new dancing skills into her and Kev’s Valentine’s Day plans it was a definite no.

“I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. I don’t believe in it!”

She went on to defend her stance stating that she hoped Kev was watching and that “Everyday should be Valentine’s Day!”

From romantic partner’s back to dance partner’s, Kai told Goss he was “excited” to have Anna back next week.

Week 7 will feature the first dance off of the series with the two lowest scoring contestants fighting for their place in the show.
