Colin Farrell has revealed that he ‘didn’t get the call’ for the new Harry Potter movie.
We caught up with him Ireland Funds America party, and the In Bruges actor began by chatting about how he was delighted to see his friend Martin McDonagh doing exceptionally well this year.
Martin, who has Irish parents, wrote the screenplay for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri – which has been cleaning up this awards season.
“I have a soft spot for Martin McDonagh,” Colin told Goss.ie. “Anytime the country is represented, at such a world recognised event… that’s an amazing thing. But particularly Martin, I love him.”
Commenting on whether Colin had got to see the movie yet he informed us that once wasn’t enough.
“I have, a couple of times. I love it,” he said.
When asked what he was up to at the moment he divulged that he’s enjoying some downtime after a busy 2017.
“Nothing, very little. I’ve just been home catching up with family and friends.”
The actor spent eight months making the Yorgos Lanthimos’ Killing of a Sacred Deer alongside Barry Keoghan and Nicole Kidman.
The Castleknock native also told us that he won’t be involved in the new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie.
“I didn’t get the call,” he said, before joking, “I’ve been eyeballing the phone everyday.”
The 41-year-old didn’t rule out being involved in a prequel to the prequel, and loved that his kids could enjoy his acting for a change.
“You know it was nice to do something that the kids could actually see for once.”
