We caught up with Clelia Murphy following her debut on Dancing with the Stars and she revealed that she had serious doubts about joining the show.
The dancer scored 19 points for her jive on Sunday and although she seemed confident on the dance floor, the actress has told Goss.ie that she was quite nervous before joining the show.
“I’m paddling. The analogy is that I’m like a swan, but my feet are going mental underneath the water,” she told us.
“I’m way out of my comfort zone and that’s exactly why I’m doing it, because I nearly allowed myself to say ‘no’. Because I thought ‘No you can’t do this, you can’t do that. You’d love to do it, but you can’t do it because you’d be no good at that.'”
“So my message is to anybody out there, if you feel like you can’t do something but you really want to do it, do it anyway. Do it anyway, if you fail so what? Pick yourself up, get out on your own way, try something new,” the actress continued.
“That’s the only thing I can say to you, because right now it wasn’t perfect and it wasn’t the best dance and it wasn’t any of those things, but I did it.”
