Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon joined us on the Marker Hotel rooftop for the announcement of the nominees and host of this year’s Peter Mark Style Awards.
As they were nominated for Favourite Irish Designer we asked them to share some of their sage style wisdom.
They gave us top style tips for the warmer months coming down the line, a tonic as we’re blasted by the sequel to the ‘Beast from the East’!
“We’re known for hot colours, bold colours, but we’ve played in quite a few subtle colours against it now so we’re showing our softer side.”
Sonya was sporting the new Lennon Courtney collection which launches at the end of of the month.
Brendan remarked on how proud they are of their new line.
“It’s all ready to wear, it’s all light fabrics… Most of it is all machine washable s well so we’re really proud of that.”
While a return of Off The Rails was dismissed we will get to see both of them back on our screens soon.
Brendan “is doing a follow up documentary called ‘We Need To Talk About Retirement’ for RTÉ One and another series of ‘This Crowded House’ for RTÉ Two.”
When asked about style for older people Brendan doled out great life advice.
“I think you get to a certain age and you drink gin and tonics in the morning, get taxis everywhere and wear whatever you like!”
Sonya added “Be disgraceful. And don’t wait to be disgraceful!”
Brendan finished their amusing advice, “We’re pretty good at it now…!”
