2FM bosses are “lining up Doireann Garrihy” to co-host a new show, we can exclusively reveal.

After the shock news that both Jenny Greene and Nicky Byrne have left 2FM, sources have told Goss.ie that popular social media star turned presenter Doireann is a firm favourite to join the station.

With Jennifer Zamparelli leaving Breakfast Republic to take over Nicky and Jenny’s spot, it is believed new presenters will be announced for a breakfast replacement.

“They have wanted Doireann for a while, and now is the perfect time to get her into 2FM,” a source told Goss.ie.

“2FM bosses have brought her in already, and she was spotted with Eoghan McDermott. She used to do the AA Roadwatch link on Eoghan’s show before she became a star, so working with him again would be bringing her radio career full circle,” the insider added.

Although no show for Doireann has been confirmed yet, and she just recently took over the Dermot & Dave show on Today FM.

After leaving her Zoo Crew show on SPIN 1038, it was believed Doireann would stay with SPIN or move to Today FM, but our insiders say 2FM are being “persistent” and are offering Doireann a “great deal”.

Doireann already works with RTE on her show The Doireann Project

The Podge and Rodge host only just launched her own podcast The Laughs of Our Lives, with her God Father Ian Dempsey on as her first host.

Meanwhile, it is believed that Louise McSharry will be moving from her evening show, leaving another spot open in the 2FM schedule.
