EVERYTHING that happened at Conor McGregor’s UFC press conference

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov have finally come face to face, ahead of their highly anticipated fight next month – and they didn’t disappoint.

The Dublin native and the Russian fighter came together for a joint press conference – and Conor certainly didn’t hold back.

Conor, 30, first off told press that he wanted the public to be at the conference, hitting out at UFC boss Dana White for keeping the event closed.

The Dubliner also revealed why he returned to the UFC: “I came back for the love of fighting and the love of war,” he said proudly.

And making sure to hit Khabib hard with insults, Conor started by saying Khabib was always a fan of his, buying his t-shirts. “You were a fan boy b****,” he said.

And of course bringing up the infamous bus incident, where Conor and his crew threw items at the bus Khabib and his team were on, Conor said Khabib hid scared.

Conor said that on the day he made it clear he had “no weapons” when he walked up to the bus.

“S*** on the bus,” Conor kept saying over and over. “If you got off that bus you’d be dead now, I’d be in a cell now,” he said.

Conor also hinted at worries Khabib could pull out of the fight. “If you pull out like you always pull out, god have mercy on your soul,” he said to his arch nemesis.

“You’re dead when I get my hands on you…dead,” he added.

Conor told press that he will “stomp on his head as he’s unconscious” when the pair fight on October 6th in Las Vegas.

As well as proving he really is the king of publicity, Conor arrived on stage with a bottle of his new whiskey Proper No. Twelve.

Conor admitted his bottle was confiscated on the way in so he made sure it was “snuck in” with someone else.

The Dubliner then hilariously asked staff to provide him with glasses so he could drink his own whiskey. Conor also announced his brand is an official sponsor of the fight.

While there were rumours that the UFC champion would retire, Conor said although he doesn’t need to fight because he has so much money, he wanted to return.

“I don’t have to fight for money no more, thank God,” he admitted.

“The boxing made me a lot of money I could have retired then, I am set for life,” he said referring to his huge fight against Floyd Mayweather.

“I just love it,” he said of the UFC.

Conor also predicted he will win the upcoming fight in “the first round”.

Over 380,000 people were watching a live stream of the conference from Radio City, New York, before it had even started.

The father-of-one arrived in style, wearing his own suit design from August McGregor.

In the end over 500,000 people tuned in to watch Conor talk the talk and #UFC229 was trending on Twitter all over the world.

While the conference itself was only open to press, members of the public gathered in New York’s Times Square, where the conference was streamed live.
