TV star Eoin Macken has revealed he’s already working on his second book – mere days after launching his debut novel.
The Merlin actor showed off his first book, Kingdom of Scars, last week but has decided to immediately get back to work.
He added: “I’m writing another book at the moment. When you write a book, people legitimise it by actually reading the book and so it’s almost okay to write another one.

“I’m actually putting in the time now to write the next one. It’s kind of a little bit like Grapes of Wrath, it’s about an 18-year-old boy in New Mexico – it’s kind of a trav- elling story.
“It’s kind of in the middle of being written so I’ve no idea where it’s going to go but it’s a different style.”
And Eoin, 31, told the Herald that despite roles in Fair City and NBC’s Nightshift, he prefers writing to acting.
He said: “You’ve more time and you don’t have someone over your shoulder saying you have to do this or that and I like it because it’s something you create.”
However Eoin does plan to make a film version of his first book.
“I’m definitely going to make it into a film, it just depends on when. I can’t play the lead character because he’s 15,” he said.
“I’m not going to be in it though, I’m just going to direct. I would obviously have a hand in casting.
“I’ll definitely be shooting it in Ireland. This is part of why I wrote the book, I wanted to make it into a film and make it here in Ireland.”
