Ed Sheeran and Mick Jagger have been hanging out in Dublin

The musicians met up for lunch

Sir Mick Jagger and Ed Sheeran have been hanging out in Dublin.

The musicians are both in the Irish capital this week – as Mick played Croke Park on Thursday with The Rolling Stones, and Ed has been performing for Irish fans in Phoenix Park.

After realising that they would be crossing paths, Mick and Ed organised to meet up for lunch, and the Stones frontman dished out some sage advice to the 27-year-old.

A source told the UK Sun, “They’re both great networkers who love music and enjoy talking about life in the business.”

“So when they realised their tours were crossing over in Ireland, they decided to get together for lunch, picking somewhere very posh but very private to do it out of the way given they are two of the world’s most recognisable stars.

“Ed admires Mick enormously for all he’s achieved over a lifetime in music. He was keen to take his advice on board and listen to his experience.”

Meanwhile, an insider told Goss.ie that Ed and The Rolling Stones are staying at the five-star InterContinental Hotel in Ballsbridge – so this is likely where they hooked up for their private lunch.

It was recently reported that Sir Elton John warned Ed that his success wouldn’t last forever, but Mick doesn’t agree with that at all.

The source continued, “Mick definitely doesn’t share Elton’s view that it won’t last. He believes Ed is one of the most talented men of his generation.”

“In fact, he told him to ignore Elton’s warning entirely, as he thinks he could carry on as long as the Stones have.”
