Donal Skehan has revealed how issues with his US visa kept him away from his family for three weeks.
The celebrity chef resides in Los Angeles with his Swedish wife Sofie and their one-year-old son Noah.
Speaking to the Irish Sun, Donal said:Â “That was the longest I’ve been away from him, it was definitely tough.”
“It was three weeks, it was due to be less but I had to apply for my American visa again.”
Donal and Sofie made LA their permanent home when they moved there four years ago, but they’re determined to make sure Noah stays close to his Irish and Swedish roots.
“We were back at Christmas and we were making sure he was surrounded by family and Irish food.
“That was important to us to make sure he knows where he comes from and where his families are from,” he added.
