Dolores O’Riordan’s cause of death has been revealed.

The Cranberries singer tragically passed away in January of this year.

An inquest into her death has revealed today that the Irish singer drowned in the bathtub of her London hotel room.

Coroner Shirley Radcliffe today ruled at Westminster Coroner’s Court that O’Riordan’s death was an accident, stating at the inquest how “There was no evidence this was anything other than an accident. This seems to be solely a tragic accident”.

The mother-of-three was found by hotel maid in the London Hilton hotel, with her head and nose below the water level in the bathtub.

A number of empty alcohol containers, all from the hotel mini-bar, were found in the bedroom including an empty champagne bottle.

The 46-year-old had a blood alcohol level of 330mg, four times over the legal driving limit according to the inquest.

Her bandmates were devastated by the news of her untimely death, telling the DailyMail at the time “the world has lost a true artist”.
