Doireann Garrihy lands new radio gig on Today FM

The presenter has always dreamed of having her own national radio show

Busy: Doireann has been working on multiple projects

Today FM have announced Doireann Garrihy as a guest presenter on their Weekend schedule this Saturday 17 November (2PM – 6PM).

The stations’ regular show ‘Premiere League Live’ is taking the week off due to the international break in soccer, so Doireann will be taking the reigns, and promises to bring “plenty of craic and loads of tzunes”.

Speaking about her first solo-show on a national radio station, Doireann said: “I’m so excited to be joining the Today FM family this weekend.”

“I’ve been hovering at their door for the past few years, so to finally be taking to the airwaves is a dream come true. Tune in from 2pm as I have some seriously dzeadly tickets to give away!”

Programme Director at Today FM Adelle Nolan added: “When you have this kind of talent on your doorstep, you must give her a show! We are delighted to have Doireann on the national airwaves this weekend.”

Doireann is of course no stranger to the halls of Today FM, as her uncle is none other than Ian Dempsey.

The news comes after Doireann left her post hosting The Zoo Crew on Spin 103.8 with Martin Guilfoyle earlier this year.
