Dáithí Ó’Sé has revealed the amusing present his mum gives him on his birthday every year without fail.
For most of us, the steady flow of cash-filled birthday cards stopped shortly after our 21st birthday but not for Dáithí! The Rose of Tralee presenter turns 42 today and his mum still spoils him with a card every year, that has a crisp €20 note sellotaped to it.
He shared a photo of the sweet gesture on Instagram much to his famous friends’ amusement. Anna Daly and Yvonne Connolly were among the first celebs to wish him a happy birthday.
We estimate she has gifted him €840 to date if the annual tradition has been going since his first birthday. Hopefully he’s been stashing the presents in a compound interest account!
He also shared a photo of a handmade card from his son, Mícheál Óg.
The cover read, “Happy Birthday Daddy!!!”, and was adorned with lovely green and orange paint.
