Conor McGregor tried to track down a homeless family who were living in their car

Conor McGregor’s business partner has revealed the MMA star tried to track down a family who were living out of their car.

Ken Austin, who runs Proper No. Twelve alongside the Crumlin native, told Business Insider of a side to the UFC star that people don’t often see.

Speaking about the Proper promo tour in the US this past March, Ken spoke about Conor meeting fans on St Patrick’s weekend.

According to the business man, a family had arrived to see Conor while he was promoting his whiskey, and their child asked him for a photo.

“Conor says, ‘Sure, sure, sure,’ and he grabs the kid and puts his arm around him.”

Ken added that more and more people had spotted the UFC fighter and crowds started getting larger so his security detail moved him to another location.

It wasn’t until the team had left the venue that Conor was told the family he had seen were living out of their car.

“He got angry, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ he said. I said, ‘I didn’t realise.’ He said, ‘Let’s go back,’ he wanted to go back, and he wanted to pay for a hotel and get them clothing,” Ken revealed.

“He said, ‘We’ve got to find them.’

“Those moments that I’ve seen with him, a side that truly does care about people, about helping… he’s pretty amazing and nobody really sees that side.

“It’s what makes him special.”
