Conor McGregor donates €12k to help sick Dublin girl get treatment

Conor McGregor has donated €12,000 to help a young Dublin girl get treatment for a rare genetic condition.

More than €100,000 has now been raised for the little girl so she can go to the US for specialist treatment.

Evie is set to turn 1-year-old this month, and saw funds raised by children competing in a Hell and Back ‘Junior’ competition as well as a head-shaving night this month in Crumlin Boxing Club.

The event raised an extra €12,000 for Evie, and according to Echo.ie, Conor then matched the amount, adding in €12,000 of his own money.

Evie’s parents Emma Nolan and Keith Purdy originally hoped to raise €60,000 but said now their goal has been “blown out of the water”.

In March of this year Evie was found to be missing a large part of her X-chromosome and with a rare condition called Microcephaly with Pontine Cerebellar Hypoplasia, and a mutation in her CASK gene.

Little Evie can get her treatment now in the US

The condition stunts the development of the brain, and can cause lots of medical issues.

Girls born with a mutation in their CASK gene, normally can’t speak and find it very hard to walk.

Evie’s treatment in the US will hopefully improve her development immensely through “aggressive burst therapy”.

You can still make donations right HERE.

It comes after Conor fueled rumours that he will return to the UFC before the year is out.

The father-of-two took to Twitter to challenge Frankie Edgar to a fight in December – telling UFC boss Dana White that he wants his fight pay to go to charity.
