Charlene McKenna has revealed that her family home has burned down in a devastating fire.
The house where the Ripper Street star grew up in Monaghan was destroyed by the blaze, and now her family are trying salvage what’s left of their belongings.
Revealing the news on Instagram, the actress shared a photo of herself in her old school uniform.
She wrote, “When your family home burns down (top floor&everyone is ok 🙏🏻) and you’re all devastated and all your nice clothes are gone BUT your school uniform miraculously survived (&fits!).”
She continued, “On a serious note I’d like to thank everyone at #monaghanfirebrigade and all our neighbours who went to all points on the country roads to make sure the fire brigade didn’t get lost! 😢 #humansareamazing.
“And finally PLEASE turn switches off at the wall (especially idle phone chargers!!!).
“It takes a second and can save lives and homes! We are so sad but we’ve been SO lucky 🙏🏻 Let the rebuilding commence,” she added.
