Ronan Keating had the support of his celeb pals today, for the Marks & Spencer Marie Keating Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic.
Stars such as Brian McFadden, Love/Hate’s Laurence Kinlan and GAA star Bernard Brogan attended the event at the Palmer Course at the K Club.
Speaking about the fundraising event in honour of his mother, Ronan told Goss.ie that the golfing event is always important to him.
“It has been tough out there to do charity balls with the economy being so awful.”

“So having this event is very important and maintaining it every year. The turn out is always spectacular,” he said.
“We always get great people coming out – it’s really important. My mum passed away 16 years with breast cancer.
“The first thing we did was a golf day with my relatives, as it was something we knew we could do and set up,” he told Goss.ie.

Ronan added that it was “very important for the Marie Keating Foundation’s funding to bring facilities around the country to more rural areas for breast checks.”
“It’s all about educating people about breast cancer because we didn’t know very much when we found out about mum’s cancer and we were scared.
“So it’s nice for people not to be in the same situation we were in,” he said.

Ronan and Storm hosted the event in the stunning sunshine.
This year all funds raised will be specifically channelled to support the roll out of the Foundation’s school cancer awareness programme– raising awareness and promoting healthy living to 4th, 5th & 6th year secondary students throughout Ireland.
