Brendan O’Carroll plans to make movie with US TV star Tyler Perry

Brendan O’Carroll has revealed that he’s gearing up to make a movie with US TV star Tyler Perry.

The comedian, who also revealed that plans for the Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie sequel have been pushed back due to the fallout of Brexit, is headed to Hollywood to work on a new project – and don’t worry, it still involves Agnes Brown.

The Sun have revealed that Brendan O’Carroll’s on-screen persona Agnes Brown is set to team up with Madea, a tough, no-nonsense elderly black woman, created and played by Tyler Perry – who also has her own show on Oprah Winfrey’s channel.

Brendan and Tyler are said to be joining forces for a new movie this month, after being fans of each other’s work for years.

“Tyler is a fantastic writer and performer. We are exploring what a movie would look like with both Mrs Brown and Madea and we are laughing a lot,” Brendan said.

“The very thought of the brilliant Brendan O’Carroll and I working together has got me beyond excited. And the thought of Mrs Brown meeting Madea . . . hysterical!” Tyler told The Sun.

The news comes after it was revealed that the Mrs Brown’s Boys live episode pulled in 6.4 millions viewers on the BBC over in the UK, and over half a million Irish viewers on RTÉ One.
